Product Details
The
'Ramesses' is a simple beautiful French Bateau clawfoot tub. It has a
high gloss white interior and an umber washed Egyptian gold leafed
exterior. Our design team chose to use a burnt umber wash to age the
hand gilded exterior as to add an enormous amount of richness and depth
to the gold leaf. Our gilding team apply 5" x 5" leaf carefully
structured to retain some seam and crease lines that would be desired
with a hand gilded item. The results are incredible.
Exterior Finishing
After
leafing and aging, we apply three coats of specially prepared gloss
lacquer to really accentuate the finish and also to offer protection. We
strongly advise that great care is taken during installation to prevent
scratching. While the lacquer is the same as would be used on a high
quality automobile, a heavy contact can scratch through the surface.
Care and Maintenance
The
high gloss acrylic and painted surfaces are very simple to maintain.
To clean the exterior, just wipe with a soft damp cloth. For interior
cleaning, we recommend a hot, damp soapy soft cloth, we don't recommend
anything abrasive. Never use bleach, ammonia or any scouring powders on
either the tub or the fittings, these will cause damage.
For serious stains inside your tub, we recommend a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge pad.
